Child Protection & Family Wellbeing
IWHDA promotes child protection and family wellbeing by strengthening community understanding of children’s rights, safety and wellbeing while addressing the conditions that can expose children and families to violence, neglect, discrimination and other protection concerns. We engage parents, caregivers, community members and local structures in awareness, dialogue and practical discussions around safe and supportive families. The programme is connected to our wider work with women and girls because protecting children also requires stronger families, safer communities and adults who understand their responsibilities toward children. IWHDA’s wider mandate explicitly includes the wellbeing of vulnerable women, girls, children and underserved communities.
